Pierre Baril has been president of the Bureau d’Audiences Publiques sur l’Environnement (BAPE) since November 2012. He is a member of several professional orders (engineers and agronomists) in Québec. He holds a doctorate in Agricultural Engineering and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the École polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, in Switzerland. Between 1995 and 2012, he held positions as director of the agronomy and agricultural engineering division of BPR Groupe-conseil, state administrator with the deputy minister of transport, deputy transport minister, and director general of Ouranos. He also served several times as assistant deputy minister.
