The Grand Council of the Crees, a political body representing the 18,000 Crees living in the traditional territory of Eeyou Istchee, Baie-James, in northern Québec, recently held a major public participation exercise on a Governance Agreement and The Cree Constitution.

This conference will allow us to better understand the radical changes that the Cree Nation has undergone over the past 50 years. While the development of their territory was at the time done without their consent, a series of agreements created a unique legal framework that brought them closer to self-government.

Come to be inspired and learn about the challenges and the promises of a nation thousands of years old.
